| GLORY OF DIVYAPRABANDHAM |
Divyaprabandham means divine hymns sung by 12 Alwars and Sri Andal Ammavaru in melodious Tamil extracting four Vedas.
God Srimannarayana, the protector of the Universe gave us Vedas, Sastras, Upanishads, and Srimad Bhagawad Geetha.
Rishis blessed us to understand them with the help of nature that the purpose of this human life to practice them and attain salvation from the cycle of birth and death.
But due to the effect of the Kaliyuga, the ability to understand and practice them has become difficult for us.
To give one more and final opportunity for humanity to attain salvation, He sent His subordinates called Nitya Surigal, like Sri Sudarsana, Sri Panchajanya, Sri Garuda, Sarnga, Khadga, Gada and sent even Sri Mahalakshmi who always adorn Him in His Heart to the earth at Southern parts of Bharat now called Tamil Nadu.
To bless us He also came down in various forms called Archavataram. He dwelled in and around Tamraparni, Kaveri, and also in other major River beds and Hills in North India.
These Alwars were living normal way of life like ordinary people. In due course of time, God appeared to them. With His divine grace they visualized God – Paramatma. The places in which they realized the glory and presence of God are called Divya Desams.
They narrated the glory, divinity, and His omnipresence and enjoyed the company of God and united in Him. That narration of God as they experienced are collected and preserved by Acharyas. There are 4000 verses and therefore it is called Nalayira Divyaprabandham.
Today even in this materialistic life style we live, some of us are very fortunate to conduct, participate, Chant, Hear, Understand, experience and enjoy them through learned Scholars. Let us don’t miss this opportunity.
Don’t worry about not knowing the language or meaning. Just listen with devotion. It will be very much beneficial to you. It will eradicate our sins. We will gain the benefits of enjoying our good karmas like wealth, prosperity, good health, and lead us to attain eternal bliss.
